Peter von Mechow, RN, NHA

Mr. von Mechow is the Principal Consultant of Upper Perk Partners LLC. With over twenty-five years in the senior living healthcare field as both a Registered Nurse (RN) and Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA), Peter has proven success in leading healthcare communities.

Peter’s history of success most recently includes advisory consulting for both skilled nursing and assisted living organizations. He has helped these senior living organizations improve quality of care issues by identifying deficient practice and formulating corrective actions of improvement that are specific to the client. In addition to improving quality of care, Peter has also assisted senior living organizations improve revenue through comprehensive reviews of the Minimum Data Set (MDS). These reviews helped skilled nursing clients by identifying performance gaps in MDS knowledge, best practice, and workflows. With tailored corrective actions base on review findings, clients appreciate the efficiency of targeted improvement plans.

Prior to his work in consulting, Peter has held leadership roles in skilled nursing organizations. As a corporate compliance officer, he successfully guided an organization of 22 communities through a corporate integrity agreement (CIA) with the office of inspector general (OIG). He was also a Healthcare Administrator, LNHA of a Continuing Care Retirement Community. Through his leadership, Peter proved success in achieving deficiency free state surveys in both skilled nursing and assisted living. He also maintained a 5 Star status throughout his tenure. Additionally, he has increased therapy services and Home Care services to the full CCRC campus which both improved quality of life and continuity of care while driving revenue to exceed goals.
